Kinaxia is looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Transport Planner to join our busy transport operation in Norwich. As a Transport Planner, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of our fleet by planning and coordinating collections and deliveries, maximising vehicle utilisation, and maintaining high service standards for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute daily collection and delivery schedules using the most efficient and cost-effective methods.
- Maximise fleet utilisation by allocating drivers, vehicles and trailers effectively while meeting customer requirements.
- Use Transport Management Systems (TMS), customer portals and internal IT systems to manage transport operations efficiently.
- Liaise closely with the Workshop to ensure vehicle and trailer availability, incorporating maintenance schedules into operational plans.
- Communicate daily transport plans clearly to drivers and the wider transport team to ensure efficient execution.
- Manage staffing levels, including agency drivers where required, to ensure customer commitments are consistently met.
- Build strong relationships with customers, communicating proactively regarding schedules, delays and operational updates.
- Plan and coordinate next-day operations, process customer bookings and provide transport quotations where required.
- Support colleagues through cross-training and provide operational cover when necessary.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and comply with all Health & Safety policies and procedures.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience in a Transport Planner or similar logistics planning role.
- Good knowledge of UK road transport legislation, including:
- Driver Hours and Working Time Regulations
- EU/UK Tachograph Rules
- Highway Code
- Road Transport Regulations
- Experience using Transport Management Systems (TMS).
- Excellent geographical knowledge of the UK road network.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to prioritise workloads and work effectively under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills with both customers and colleagues.
- A proactive attitude with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service.
